On behalf of my mother's work, Macomb Literacy Partners, I would like to extend this web-site page and this Abney original holiday poem to the literacy mission. I would like to ask everyone that visits my site to consider donating to the literacy cause with either volunteer time or the gift of a small donation. Thank you and a warm season blessing to you all!
Whether “It’s a Wonderful Life” by soft firelight,
Or an action or romance in the calm twilight,
Reading “The Miracle on 34 Street", silently in your head,
Or Dr. Seuss, with silly voices, to your children before bed,
Settling in with the holiday ads, in a tiny coffee shop you know,
Or curling up with a mystery and a warm cup of cocoa.
Maybe the sports page on a snowy Sunday morning,
Or a training manual, that gives the gift of a new job doing flooring,
Perhaps the instructions for the kids new play land, out in the yard,
Or even, yes even, just a simple holiday card,
Life is just better when you can read-
And your support, is helping those in need.
Happy Holidays from James Abney & Macomb Literacy Partners…
